1. Information We Collect
We have designed this app to be as privacy-friendly as possible. We do not require you to create a traditional account (no email, phone number, or name is collected).
However, to provide the core functionality of the app, we collect the following data:
- Photos and Images: The app requires access to your device's camera and photo library. When you scan a banknote, the photo is collected and transmitted to our secure servers to be analyzed by Artificial Intelligence for identification and grading.
- Anonymous Device Identifiers: When you open the app, we automatically generate an anonymous, unique identifier (UUID) for your installation. This is used to sync your digital banknote collection and albums to the cloud securely without knowing who you are.
2. How We Use Your Information
The data we collect is used strictly for the following "App Functionality" purposes:
- To identify banknotes, estimate their grade, and provide market valuations using AI.
- To securely store your digital collection and sync it (via Supabase).
- To process optional in-app purchases or subscriptions (via RevenueCat).
We do NOT sell, rent, or share your photos or anonymous identifiers with advertising agencies or data brokers.
3. Third-Party Service Providers
To provide our services, we use trusted third-party service providers. Your data is transmitted securely (Encrypted in Transit via HTTPS) to these categories of providers:
- Cloud Hosting and Database Providers: Used to securely store your anonymous collection data, user preferences, and uploaded photos.
- Artificial Intelligence APIs: Used to analyze the photos of banknotes you upload for identification and market valuation. Importantly, we do not allow third-party AI providers to use your uploaded photos to train their foundational models.
- Payment Processors and Subscription Managers: Used to securely manage premium subscriptions and in-app purchases, and to validate purchase receipts with official app stores.
These service providers are bound by strict data processing agreements and are only permitted to process your data for the purpose of providing the core functionality of this app.
4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Compliance)
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA) or the UK, our legal basis for collecting and using the information described above is the necessity of processing it to provide the core services of this application (performance of a contract) and our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the app's functionality.
5. Data Security & Retention
All data transferred between your device and our servers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols (HTTPS).
Because your account is completely anonymous, we cannot directly link the data on our servers to your real-world identity. We retain your anonymous collection data so you do not lose your digital album.
6. Children's Privacy
This application is an educational, hobbyist, and collecting tool not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not collect personally identifiable information from any of our users, regardless of age. If you are a parent or guardian and are concerned about your child using the app, please note that because all data collection is strictly anonymous, we cannot identify, locate, or manually delete specific records based on a name or email address. To stop any further data collection and clear local data, simply uninstall the application from the child's device.
7. Your Rights (Data Deletion)
Because we do not collect personally identifiable information (like emails or names), we cannot verify individual identities to process manual data deletion requests over email. However, you can delete your local data at any time by uninstalling the application from your device.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
